Product Description
Xylitol is a naturally occurring five-carbon sugar alcohol. It is widely found in fruits (such as strawberries, plums), vegetables (such as cauliflower) and plants such as birch and corn cobs.
As a sugar substitute, xylitol is as sweet as sucrose (about 1:1), but lower in calories (2.4 kcal/g), and has a special cool taste. Because it is absorbed slowly by the human body, the insulina demand is low, and the glycemic index (GI) is only 7 (sucrose is 65), which is suitable for diabetic patients.
Application
As a multifunctional natural sweetener, xylitol has been used in many fields: in the food industry, it is not only the core sweet ingredient of sugar-free gum, candy and beverage, but also is widely used in low-calorie ice cream and baked goods to replace traditional sugars.
The daily chemical industry integrates its anti-caries properties into oral care products such as toothpaste and mouthwash, and applies it to skin care products such as lip balm by virtue of its moisture absorption and moisturizing function.
