Microcrystalline cellulose, also known as cellulose gel, or its abbreviation MCC.

It is a multi-functional ingredient commonly used as an anticaking agent, binder, thickener or stabilizer.

The European food additive number for it is E460(i).

The most common form is used in vitamin supplements or tablets.
